The Initial Reaction
It is here, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 has finally made it into the microscope of public scrutiny. The specs are nothing short of impressive. Just as what one would expect from electronics and mobile phone giant Sony; but before we can even begin dissecting this phone, the external features require a serious degree of review as well.
One refreshingly cool change is the fact that this phone does not look as fragile as other touch screen phones. Where other mobile devices are sporting curves, the X2 has edges. Sony has traded in the glass-looking gloss finish of other mobile devices in exchange with the gray metal finish of the Xperia X2.
The best thing is, Sony’s many years of designing electronics shines in the way the X2 has been executed. The Xperia X2 is both edgy and classy, retaining the sophisticated feel of a smart phone while still looking tough enough for you to enjoy more and worry less.
The Inside Look
The processor is really good; it is able to load windows mobile version 6.5 pretty fast without unnecessary load times. The response of the touch screen to finger movements and tapping the screen is fast. The graphics refresh at a high rate but does not cause the phone any slowdown as well. Running applications is pretty much the same; they load fast and function quickly. There were some slow down problems when running windows mobile 6.1, but these are caused by windows instead of the mobile phone itself.
With the announcement that the X2 will be the last Sony phone to suffer windows mobile, the next one should fare a whole lot better in terms of performance. In the mean while, the X2 is reported to be compatible with the Windows Mobile version 7 and the built in windows mobile operating system can be upgraded.

A huge part of what makes the Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 a good phone is the fact that it comes with some pretty good hardware. The camera is a generous 8.1 mega pixels that is complemented by LED flash and auto focus features. Another nice feature is the expandable internal memory –which you should upgrade since the built in amount is rather small. Fortunately, if you cannot update memory yet, you can use the SD card slot using the 4GB SD card that comes along with the mobile phone.
